Year 5 and 6 took part in a basketball tournament on the 30th January. Two teams went with one qualifying for the finals, just beating our second team (who won an award for school games values showing teamwork) to the spot. The finals took place on Wednesday 1st February. The team were outstanding and played brilliant basketball showing fantastic teamwork which also won them another school games values award for teamwork. It was a hard final and eventually we placed second, losing by just one point. I could not have been prouder of the way they played and their strong sportsmanship behaviour. Well done.

Two teams from years 5 and 6 competed in the local schools dodgeball tournament. A great time was had by all and there were some hard fought matches. Excellent team work from all players and superb sportsmanship. Well done and thank you RSSP.

On Friday 7th October our year 5/6 girls football team took part in a long-awaited tournament, having been cancelled last year due to COVID cases and rearranged twice this year due to weather, they finally took to the pitch and they did not disappoint. They played with such enthusiasm and although they did not progress to the finals they loved every minute of the matches, had the biggest smiles on their faces and all want to continue to play football outside of school. Definitely a win!

On Friday 14th October, our year 3 and 4 football team competed at a tournament at The Valley Academy. We were placed into a group with teams from St Paul’s and Haslingden Primary. Each match was hard fought and close, with two excellent goals being scored. Our defence worked incredibly hard with superb tackles and great passes down the wings and the midfield didn’t stop running. A great event with some excellent play from everyone. I’m looking forward to seeing what this team can do in the future.
