Catch up Premium
The government believes that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium grant, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current adverse effects caused by the period of school closures.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium grant was introduced in July 2020 and is allocated to schools to support pupils by tailoring the use of the funding to identified gaps to attainment. Additionally, the school has recognised the detrimental effects of school closures on our most vulnerable pupils. This funding shall be used to support them to a greater degree
The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time. This equates to £80 per child.
We have ensured that we have followed the guidance from the EEF (Education Endowment Fund) to formulate our catch-up plan.
