The ethos and distinctiveness of our school exemplifies our Religious Education. They are created by making the whole school a place where children feel confident and secure. We know that love and security experienced by young children is a basic religious need. R.E. develops a concept of God that grows from our experiences of the kindness and love we receive from others. It encourages the children to be reflective, open and enquiring as, through the Gospels, they become familiar with the life of Jesus. As well as acquisition of the factual aspects of our faith, R.E. develops ways of thinking, feeling and acting. As Catholic educators we recognise our shared role in the sacramental programme so that we are working positively with families in the parish.
